The format

Low profile, short travel, aluminium.

A low profile keyboard is thinner and its keys travel a shorter distance to the bottom. It sounds different, it types different, and the wrist sits at a far more natural angle across a long day. This is not a shrunken mechanical keyboard: it is a separate format, with its own switches and its own construction.

STANDARD PROFILE LOW PROFILE ≈ 40 mm ≈ 22 mm
Side elevation · standard profile against low profile
Height
Roughly half a conventional mechanical board. The hand rests near desk level and the wrist rest stops being necessary.
Travel
Around 3 mm against the usual 4 mm. Less distance per keystroke, and less accumulated effort across thousands of them.
Construction
Aluminium body, gasket mount, layered damping. That is where the deep, compact sound comes from, not from the price tag.

The criteria

Three conditions, none negotiable.

We do not carry a catalogue. We carry what passes these three tests, and nothing else.

  • Construction

Aluminium, not painted plastic. If the chassis flexes when you twist it by hand, it is out.

  • Sound

Deep, dry, with no hollow-case echo. Sound is half the experience and the first thing that gives away cheap construction.

  • Design

It has to belong on a desk someone is proud of. No colour lighting, no gaming aesthetics.
